Farm

Fattoria La Leccia is located on the northern slopes of Montespertoli, in the heart of Chianti. The estate lies within a territory with a centuries-old viticultural tradition.

The 20 hectares of vineyards, positioned at an altitude of 200 meters, are sheltered to the north by the Apennine Mountains and benefit to the east from fertile marine breezes. The soils are composed of complex clays, noble sands, and rich alluvial stone fractions. Combined with a warm summer climate and significant diurnal temperature variation, these conditions contribute to the production of wines that are fresh, flavorful, and elegantly structured.

The estate has been owned by the Bagnoli family since 1974, but it was in the 2013 vintage that Paola and Lorenzo, joined by Sibilla and Angelica, chose to take an active role in revitalizing this remarkable land. Theirs is a family story deeply rooted in this soil—one that grows, evolves, and ultimately returns to the land with gratitude and respect.

Philosophy

The estate is a place where a new agricultural mindset takes shape through the craftsmanship of daily work. This production philosophy is rooted in the ongoing pursuit of quality, achieved through meticulous vineyard parceling in the field and micro-vinifications in the cellar.

A deep love for the native grape varieties, Sangiovese and Trebbiano, defines a distinctive style aimed at producing wines that are vibrant, enjoyable, and contemporary. As Lorenzo often says: "Every wine must tell a story. And even the whole story is not enough to tell the tale of a wine."

Organic certification, olive cultivation, forest stewardship, and beekeeping complete the estate’s holistic approach — all dedicated to regenerating the environment and promoting biodiversity.
